What is SMTP?

SMTP is the server used when sending out email. A more in depth definition is Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, a protocol for sending e-mail messages between servers. The protocol also sends an error message to the sender if the sent message is not deliverd successfully. It can not authenticate the sender either therfore email spam can also be sent through.
