| Computer Safety It is always recommended power down the computer when it is not in use. This is primarily a preventive step to help keep your computer safe from hackers, viral infections, and any other threats that can come from unwanted intrusions. It is also safer for the machine and peripheral components in the event of electrical surges, which can be a danger during electrical storms. *Note* Before you powering down the computer, it is advisable to run a full system scan with your anti-virus and/or anti-spyware program. There are many virus and spyware infections that will activate when your computer restarts. |
